The uniforms, designed by British design shop CuteCircuit, have lights and LED displays and likely some bells and whistles as well. Engineers’ uniforms are a little spooky, with lit-up hoods and sleeves; something like holding a flashlight under your chin in a dark room. The suits also have built-in cameras. Lapels on the cabin crew uniforms display flight information, while shoulder LEDs on the and hems provide additional lighting “in the event of an emergency.” Basically, the cabin uniforms look like Vegas meets Tron.
“Our crew’s primary concern is for the safety of all passengers so it is really exciting to be working on this pioneering new technology, which could transform the capability of our uniforms, helping crew to be more easily identified in an emergency as well as helping them to provide great service to passengers,” EasyJet’s head of cabin crew, Tina Milton said.
