Back in January, we reported that Intel, designer Opening Ceremony, and the New York fashion store Barney’s were collaborating on a bracelet. They introduced it yesterday: the MICA.
MICA — My Intelligent Communication Accessory — will come in two versions: “One style will feature black watersnake skin, pearls from China, and lapis stones from Madagascar, while the other style will feature white watersnake skin, tiger’s eye from South Africa, and obsidian from Russia,” says an Intel press release. Beyond that, the big news seems to be the photograph: Intel says the MICA will have notification functions, while CNET is reporting that it will have a 3G SIM card and carry a $1000 price tag when it goes on sale for the holiday season.
Further technical details, Intel says, will be disclosed next month, drawing out an already-long “debut” to nearly Apple-worthy dimensions.
