Gaming is Hard on the Apple Watch, and For Good Reason

April 27, 2015 By Dan Rosenbaum

official-apple-logo-pngArs Technica has an interesting piece about how gaming companies are trying to figure out how to use the Apple Watch as a platform. There are lots of impediments, not the least of which is that Apple’s developers’ kit is pretty hostile to the idea.

To us, gaming on the watch seems like a Bad Idea; there’s limited interaction space, battery life is severely constrained, and staring and poking at your watch for extended periods of time strikes us as dorkish behavior in the extreme. Then again, as the article points out, people said the same thing about the iPhone, until developers more or less dragged it into becoming the most popular gaming device there is.

Which makes us think: adult video companies have always been among the first to embrace new devices and displays, but we haven’t heard about any of those developments. What’s the over/under on how long it’ll be before we do?
