Apple’s Fitness Exec Gives Rare Interview About the Watch

August 18, 2015 By Dan Rosenbaum

apple-watch-selling-pointsOutside.com has a pretty good longish interview with Jay Blahnik, the Nike exec that Apple lured away to help build the Apple Watch’s fitness apps. The interviewer is a skeptic — an exercise enthusiast who likes the Watch but is underwhelmed with its fitness components. This makes for a good and challenging interview, as Blahnik explains Apple’s short-term and long-term goals regarding fitness.

The thing to remember is that Blahnik is a believer in community and in data, so keep an eye out in the upcoming versions of WatchOS for social networking and connectivity to a range of other fitness devices. Apple doesn’t make its execs at this level available very often, so this entry is well worth reading.
