Movado Announces Two Tracker Lines; One with MMT, One with HP

November 17, 2015 By Dan Rosenbaum

movado motionThe fashion watch company Movado has unveiled not one but two distinct lines of connected watches, one built with HP and the other with Fullpower’s MMT movement.

MMT, long-time readers will recall, is a Swiss company created by Philippe Kahn’s Fullpower Technologies to provide electronic movements to the Swiss watch industry, enabling watchmakers to retain the “Swiss-made” label. HP had earlier partnered to build a smartwatch with designer Michael Bastian.

The Movado Sport and Bellina Motion watches — the ones with MMT movements — all are analog devices with a secondary dial that shows progress toward a daily goal. There are six watches in that line, starting at $995 depending on face size and band. They’re available on movado.com.

The Bold Motion watches — the ones built with HP — are also analog watches, but include haptic feedback and have a ring of LEDs around the bezel; a combination of vibration and LED displays alert a wearer about the type of notification the watch is trying to tell you. There are two different models for $700 and will be available “in time for the holidays.”
