Nothing can make you feel (or look) like a tourist — or a target — quite so much as looking down at your phone while you navigate through an unfamiliar city or neighborhood.
An Indigogo project called Triposo is a belt that connects to your phone and map app, and buzzes when you need to make a turn. Different parts of the belt vibrate to tell you whether to turn left or right at the hopefully appropriate time, and to alert when when you arrive.
This is a development project; there’s a prototype and you can’t buy it, although you can kick in a few bucks to help fund the thing. And not to pick nits, but the belt connects through your phone’s audio jack, which makes it more complicated to listen to music as you walk. The core idea, though, is pretty interesting…
