Hollywood Reporter on Wearables: Novelty Isn’t Enough

We don’t usually look to the Hollywood Reporter for our technology news, but we just saw a smartly reported story about a wearables panel last week at CES. There were three speakers: from Artefact, MC10, and Phone Halo.

Jennifer Darmour, design director of the Artefact Group said this, which is correct:

“There is a huge unexplored wealth in creating these new products but we have to add significant value so that they move away from being used as a novelty,”

Artefact has created Pilates clothing that includes stretch sensors and haptic feedback.
