“Digital Clothing” Hits Brooklyn

February 5, 2015 By Dan Rosenbaum

about-2-articleLargeThe New York Times has a story about an exhibition of “digital clothing” at the Pratt Institute, a prestigious design college not at all far from WTI‘s world headquarters in Brooklyn. Billie Whitehouse is (perhaps inevitably) represented by a blazer with haptic feedback and some oddities including a bra with LEDs that indicate — well, it’s not really clear what.

As with most such, this appears to be an expo of what’s possible, not what’s commercially realistic. And the article, by a metro columnist, itself talks about connected clothing as though it’s a foreign concept. We’ll try to check out the expo before it closes and give you all a more informed take on it.
