Microsoft continues to tweak the software behind its Band health tracker, Paul Thurott reports, but you still can’t actually buy one.
The software and gaming giant put a limited number of Band devices on sale at the end of last year as part of what it is now saying was a soft launch. There’s no word on when more of them will be available, or through what channels.
If you’ve got a Band, there’s new version of the online Microsoft Health portal that gives you a more detailed view of your activity; the company is still working on turning that activity data into useful recommendations. The Band now tracks cycling activity, not just running. And there are plans to uncouple the Band and Health, so you can use Band with any ecosystem and import data from any device into Health.
But you still can’t buy it.
