MWC Day 1: Good Technology Brings Wearables Into the Enterprise

March 2, 2015 By Dan Rosenbaum

Corporate IT directors tend to be control freaks, and for good reasons. The “bring your own devices” movement is driven primarily by users who want to be able to unify the same technology in their business and personal lives; IT directors, who are responsible for the security of corporate data, have had to suck it up as best they can.

Good Technology has made a nice business out of pushing corporate security and use policies out to notebooks and smartphones. But with the rise of Android Wear smartwatches, corporate security no longer ends at the phone; corporate data has reached the wrist. Good Technology has responded with Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform, a platform that allows the development of secure apps that are firmly under corporate control.

Functions like calendaring, e-mail, and notifications are commonplace in the consumer market. But corporate security needs are generally much stricter, and giving IT departments more control over their data is an important addition to the enterprise wearables market.
