22 Percent of Pre-Ordered Apple Watches Have Shipped: Slice

April 27, 2015 By Dan Rosenbaum

three apple watchSlice Intelligence, which used its panel of online shoppers to estimate first-day orders for the Apple Watch, now says that Apple shipped about 375,000 of the 1.7 million preorders in the first weekend. Whether that’s a big number of not depends on your expectation; many buyers who were initially given extended shipping dates wound up getting their watches on Friday, the first day of commercial availability.

Slice also says that Apple is promising another big wave for May 27, but that 40 percent of buyers still have no confirmed date from Apple.

The data is based on a sample of 10,744 Watch buyers in Slice’s panel of 2 million users. The figures are based e-receipts from vendors, Slice says.
