Misfit Adds Control App and Smart Button, Cuts Prices

July 16, 2015 By Dan Rosenbaum

Misfit Link 4sqMisfit, the activity tracker company, today delivered on a January promise to add smart home connectivity to its products. The company announced Misfit Link, software that lets the Misfit Flash fitness tracker also control camera, presentations, and music on your smartphone. And iOS version is available immediately, the company said; Android will follow next month.

The company promised more functions “soon,” including integration with IFTTT and Logitech Harmony universal remotes.

Along with the software, Misfit announced the Flash Link “smart button” for $19.99, available now at the web site and at retail later this quarter. At the same time, the company cut the price of its top-of-the-line Shine tracker to $70 and Flash to $30.

The Link software works with Misfit’s Flash and Flask Link, but not the Shine tracker, the company said.
