Back in March, Huawei — one of the world’s biggest cellphone makers — showed off a handsome circular Android Wear watch. It’s going on sale September 17.
The Huawei Watch has a 42mm diameter dial, a stainless steel case and two-layer sapphire glass. Standard 18mm bands look like they’ll work, too. It has the standard array of electronics including a 6-axis motion sensor, 4GB memory, Qualcomm processor, Bluetooth 4.1, and a 300mAh battery. Huawei execs say the heart monitor they use reads heart rate in half the time as Apple’s, and the watch face is always on.
The watch is also 11mm thick which (according to VentureBeat’s pictures) looks pretty massive.
Six models will be available in a range of finishes and bands, at prices running from $399 for a stainless steel case and black leather strap, to $799 for gold-plated stainless case and link bracelet.
