Tag Heuer Sneaks $1800 Smartwatch

October 13, 2015 By Dan Rosenbaum

tag heuer sneakYou might want to mark your calendar for November 9, because that’s apparently when Tag Heuer is going to set a new top price point for Android Wear watches.

Several reports gathered by Ars Technica point to that date and an $1800 price tag for an upgradeable watch powered by an Intel SoC. There’s a web site that counts down to the launch date, but have patience because it renders slowly. (A November sale date for the watch had been reported previously.)

Tag Heuer — a brand of the LVMH luxury goods company — makes analog “tank-style” watches aimed at athletes, particularly marathoners and Formula 1 drivers, and people who identify with them. It will be interesting to see how the company differentiates its watch from the rest of the — much less expensive — Android Wear crowd, both in function and design.
