Withings Announces Connected Temporal Thermometer: CES Day -2

January 5, 2016 By Dan Rosenbaum

Withings-Thermo-Techno-F°Withings, maker of the popular Activé line of dual-dial smartwatches and a line of connected health appliances, has announced a temporal thermometer, the Thermo.

It works by pressing the device to a patient’s temple, pressing a button, and holding the device steady for two seconds, until it vibrates slightly. The temperature, measured by an array of 16 infrared sensors taking 4,000 measurements, is displayed on the device and saved on a smartphone app, the company said. The app can store temperature data trends for multiple users, and can share the data with a doctor (or anyone else).

The Thermo is slated to go on sale for $100 later this quarter.
