The Microsoft Band 2 received generally positive reviews when it first appeared as an efficient way to keep track of your health, email, workouts, and golf game. Now, thanks to a partnership between Microsoft and Volvo, it’s coming to your car.
If you have a Volvo. And a Band 2
Those of you who currently fall into the small intersection of Volvo and Band owners will be able to talk to your car remotely, telling it to start the heater, honk the horn (handy if you’ve lost the car in a mega-parking lot), set navigation, lock and start the car, and set navigation. The working partners are a new Band Volvo app and Volvo’s On Call Mobile app, and you’ll see it in 2018 — if you live in New Zealand.
Volvo has a well-deserved reputation for safety, which would seem at odds with talking-to-your-wrist technology.
