Google Picks Its First Five Glass Software Partners

June 17, 2014 By Dan Rosenbaum

There’s more signs of Glass’s life in the enterprise: Google has selected five software companies as its first Google At Work Certified Partners.

We met the guys at APX Labs at Glazed earlier this month, although they were demoing their enterprise data application on Epson’s Moverio. Aside from its hooks into enterprise data of all kinds, what’s interesting about APX is an interface that relies on small head movements; no hand gestures required, which makes sense in applications like warehousing and service, where a user’s hands will likely be otherwise engaged.

Augmedix is dedicated to connecting doctors to electronic medical records, which has rigorous regulatory and privacy requirements. Other medical applications report having to throw out all of Glass’s software and rebuilding it from the ground up.

CrowdOptic does video streaming for wearables, including Glass, with a focus on sports and in-arena applications.

GuidiGo focuses on museums and cultural institutions. Think museum tours.

Wearable Intelligence builds applications in the healthcare and energy sectors.
