We’ve previously mentioned the Skully motorcycle helmet, which features a heads-up display, rear-view camera, and GPS navigation. We saw a prototype a few months ago courtesy of our friends at Wearable World Labs, which incubated the project. We were pretty impressed — although the quantity of hype surrounding it obscured the fact that it wasn’t close to shipping.
It’s getting closer. Skully this week started taking pre-orders on Indiegogo. As of this writing, 611 people have put up roughly $1400 each, far outstripping what was a modest goal of about 175. The campaign closes on Sept 9. Shipping is anticipated for May 2015.
