In another move away from Apple’s once vaunted isolationism, T-Mobile and Sprint will be selling the Apple Watch in store starting Sept. 25, the same launch date as for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. (This must count as an accessory for them, as there’s no network connectivity or plan involved.)
Not long afterwards, on Oct. 5, Apple and Hermes stores will carry a luxury version of the watch, sporting leather bands and custom faces. Moreover, Best Buy, which originally carried Apple Watch in only a few stores, will be carrying it in all 1,000-plus of its stores by the end of September. Given Watch sales in its first quarter of availability, Apple seems determined to make the consensus analyst sales figure for the year.
And just in time for Christmas. Guess who’s getting a watch in her stocking.
