Has Google Glass Gained a New “Aura”?

September 17, 2015 By Dan Rosenbaum

frames_curve glassThere were media reports last night that Google Glass is now living under the name “Project Aura,” and that the company has snapped up a bunch of people from Amazon’s Lab126 hardware development group. Also, Business Insider notes that one recent Google hire is Adrian Wong, the lead electrical engineer for Glass, who had left to join Facebook’s Oculus group but returned to Google.

Business Insider’s source told it that Aura will reside within Google itself, rather than reporting to Nest CEO Tony Fadell. Nest is one of the companies spun out of Google under the Alphabet umbrella; Glass was put into the Nest group earlier this year when it left the labs and began to become productized.
