The fitness clothing maker Under Armour, already into the software business with its purchase of MyFitnessPal and Endomondo, is diving into the hardware business with a Healthbox suite of connected devices.
Healthbox, developed with HTC (better known for its cellphones) comprises a band, a heart rate monitor, and scale, and is available for preorder for $400. (HTC previously sold a band in the UA Record software ecosystem.) In addition, Under Armour is now selling a smart running shoe called SpeedForm Gemini 2 Record Equipped for $150, and will be ready for pre-order on February 29.
Lastly, Under Armour announced two sets of wireless headphones developed with JBL, one with heart rate monitors. The version without heart rate will be available for $180; the heart-rate version will be available in late spring for $250.
