Eyes F.lashing Before Your Life

July 11, 2017 By Pugi Kohl

We really really really don’t like writing about Kickstarter projects, no matter how successful the funding is. But sometimes, you’ve just got to pay attention. Like when we hear about something like F.lashes: a digital eyelid accessory that sticks on like fake eyelashes (eyelash adhesive) and blink in various patterns.

If this still sounds like a great idea, consider this: They’re not wireless. So, you stick these blinking LEDs on your eyelids and run thin wires around your temples to a small controller on the nape of your neck. (Bobby pins or hair clips are required.) Once you get everything in place, the lights will blink to your movements — if the controller stays in place while you’re moving to the music and you are hanging out somewhere dark.

We’re probably too old for this. You may not be.

The price is right, for those who would actually wear these things. The controller and one pair of lashes in your choice of color will run a $40. For $100, you get seven pairs of lashes in each of the available colors: Bright White, Light Pink, Bright Red, Bright Yellow, Light Green, Bright Blue, and Light Blue. As we see it, this covers colors for the major holidays and family celebrations.

F.lashes is to ship in January 2018. We recommend the white or pink color if you get them in time for New Year’s parties, and Bright Red for Valentine’s Day, Halloween, and in case it doesn’t ship on time.
